Ernie Connects elder care tech goes global with Smart Caregiving partnership

New UK-based care technology company Ernie Connects has announced a new partnership with American caregiver resource directory Smart Caregiving.

Smart Caregiving assists people caring for loved ones and will now promote the UK company’s new video and audio calling technology to a worldwide audience.

Ernie Connects’ Touch to Talk technology utilises phones and tablets to enable elderly care patients to instantly connect with loved ones and carers.

The fully integrated communications platform has been officially endorsed by Smart Caregiving, with the hope being that the free service will combat loneliness, boredom and helplessness among care patients.

Built to promote human connection through simplified social interaction, the technology, which is CQC-, GDPR- and HIPAA-compliant, is also inclusive for those with cognitive impairments, as well as those with hearing and sight impairments.

In addition, it can be integrated with a care environment’s whole system, sending notifications around the home such as medical help and assistance.

Smart Caregiving CEO, founder and president, Traci Lamb, said: “Having spent the last 20 years in the healthcare industry and being the primary caregiver to both my parents who are in their 80s, I was very impressed with what Ernie Connect could offer to help both the elderly and their caregivers.

“The team are serious about reducing loneliness and promoting healthier, happier lives for residents, so we’re very excited about the partnership.

“Personally, I look forward to being able to take the product with me and showcase it to delegates worldwide.

“The exposure will be phenomenal in helping to connect those in care with others instantly and infinitely.”
